Low back pain is an exceptionally common condition, affecting approximately a quarter of Australians at any given time, and two-thirds each year. Broadly speaking, there are three types of low back pain.
Mechanical or non-specific low back pain
Low back pain affecting the nerves to the lower limbs
Lower back pain caused by a serious pathology
Each class of lower back pain has a different management strategy, and so a correct diagnosis is important to ensuring you receive best care.
